and Kelly. It's awesome cause it's right by the Kilpatrick Turnpike and Broadway Extension. We had a wedding shower today. It's cool getting all new stuff including Battleship.
Starbucks is rollin' along in our little recession. My store made 5 teams, consisting of partners at our 36th and May store. These teams will compete in Average ticket sales, Promo item sales, and other things. Out teams are:

Cosmic Leopard

Valkyrie's War Cry

Flaming Tower of Piety

Phoenix Wisdom

Interstellar Dreaming

Ya, I had a lot of influence on them, but I think it will be fun. Life continues to move a little faster. In the midst of days when I feel like I didn't get anything done, but worked on everything, when I feel like my output is lazy but I worked my hardest, when I can't reach unreachable goals, I have to remember to be the best Colt at everything I do. When you know something good is coming, sometimes I tend to put less quality in my current day-to-day events. This is not acceptable. It's my duty to be the best I can in all my endeavors everyday; even when repetition frustrates you and says that one effort stroke less is still good enough, kill the messenger with his lie and continue to press on until your rest. I give my best because I have been given the ability to do so with my new life in Christ. Christ brings freshness to infinitely repeated dullness, energy to my stumbling, and meaning to the ignored. The apostle Paul, from the bible wrote a letter to a church he was friends with and he told them this: "Therefore, if ANYONE is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone and the new has come."

Hey Jeff

I just got back from Panama City Beach with the Henderson Hills High School group. We were on the beach for a week. The Timberline Hike played the music for the camp and it was a lot of fun. We did some new songs and did one of our new songs called "Build The Church".
The students did well. They took a hold of the week and made it their own. They didn't just sit there listening to a speaker and singing songs. They were ready for a shift in the ministry. They're starting to see that "high school ministry" means that they're the ones doing the ministry, not just the high school pastor or the interns. They're the ones that can change their school. A lot of them are ready. I'm excited to see what will happen in Edmond in the Fall.

It's also funny how a speaker can say something so "elementary" to a group of believers and it really gets to you. Sometimes I start a journey and forget to take some serious essentials with me. Sometimes I am humbled and reminded about the importance of scripture in my life and its importance in my closest friends lives. I have seen the bible has been taken out of context, used as a rule book, and as a way to keep "Christians" in line so many times, it makes me apathetic towards its relevance. I am reminded this week that scripture is timeless, constantly relevant, and infinitely wise. I forget that sometimes.

The Timberline Hike is dormant until August 24th, when we play at Council Road Baptist Church. That night we will start up practice for the rest of our new album "Crouching Pride, Hidden Romance"... I'm kidding. It's not named yet. But We are really excited about it's freshness and diversity.

Panama City Beach

The Timberline Hike is in Panama City Beach, FL this week. The hurricane down in Mexico/Texas is making the waves pretty awesome. I can't say "awesome waves" like it really matters to me, because I don't surf. I do like to play in really big waves though. And boogie board. Phil, Evan and I are going to buy boogie boards today. I saw one with a big skull on it surrounded in roses. I think that one's mine.

Phil said last night this was his favorite camp we've ever done. Ya, it's on the beach but the students here at Henderson Hills were ready to be here. You could tell the first night. It was pretty powerful. 1/3 of the students here don't go to church. The room we're in is really small so we all have people right in our face as we're playing. One kid kept asking Claire stuff in between every song, "Was that in D?", "Did you just make that up?", "Why do you have a distortion pedal?". It was pretty funny/annoying.

Today I'm playing in my Ben Fort jean shorts. I feel like I'm at ACL.

New Blog

I started a new blog. I hear blog is coming back and there's no way I'll be left in the dust. Ever since the bloody death of Xanga, The Facebook has left me with no place to talk to the internet.
